What is a diffuser?
A diffuser, sometimes referred to as an aromatherapy diffuser, is an electric or battery-operated device that breaks down essential oils into small molecules and then disperses the tiny particles into the air either by heat, nebulizing, or ultrasonics. The purpose of using a diffuser is to evenly disperse these particles at a comfortable concentration that does not overwhelm a room but essentially provides a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the user.
Inhalation of Essential Oils is a quick and easy way to benefit from these oils. The aromatic molecules dispersed by a diffuser pass through one’s respiratory system, which connects one’s nose to the brain. It triggers the olfactory or cranial nerve, which contains sensory nerve fibers relating to one’s sense of smell and transmits impulses to the part of the brain that controls emotions. This allows our body to rest, reset, and restore itself as the scent of the Essential Oils connects with our emotions and surroundings.
